Popular bodybuilding programs that have history of helping you build muscle mass fast have their followers clocking up many hours in the gym each week. But at times they follow very rigorous routine for example three days a week is the rock bottom minimum, with routines of four, five or more workouts a week being the rule. They may further follow this with a schedule of two days on and one. day off, OR three days on and one day off, five days on and two days off, SIX days on and one day off etc. And in some cases twice a day workouts.

This very frequent and high volume type of training schedule is followed by the top bodybuilders to build muscle mass fast. But this type of schedule may not be very good for hard gainers type of trainers. But we need to remember that the routines that built their initial size of body and muscle size of the top bodybuilders are usually shorter, less frequent and a lot heavier than the routines followed to refine their already large physiques. We can argue that if the popular methods used by most bodybuilders have delivered the goods for drug-free and genetically typical bodybuilders there would be no need to discuss alternatives .The sad, but true reality is that the popular training methods to build muscle mass fast have an appealing failure rate.
