Cheating In the mass muscle workout program, cheating is when you change a position so you can lift more weight. A good example of cheating is - arching your back on a bench press. This alteration in position allows you to change the line of pull of the muscles and improves the leverage. This improved leverage allows you to lift more weight. A point to be borne in mind is that, cheating is an advanced technique of mass muscle workout. This should only be used by experienced lifters and under instructions or guidance. Those who are beginners should only follow the given instructions. Even those who are experienced do not cheat on all sets. Most lifters cheat in just the last few sets, or last few repetitions of the last set.

Therefore, cheating is an art to be utilized when you want to lift more weight than what you normally can handle in the strict position. With continued cheating and practice, this can allow them to lift that weight with standard form. Thus cheating should be used sparingly and carefully in the mass muscle workout to enhance your capability to lift more weight.

Split Routines

A split routine in the mass muscle workout technique is to alternately work the upper body and the lower body on alternate days. When you work all the major muscles one day and rest the next day - this allows the muscles to have a period of recovery. With a split routine in mass muscle workout, you can work out on successive days. This advantage is afforded because the upper body is getting a rest while you're working the lower body, and vice versa.

This is a stretching technique in mass muscle workout. This has been successfully used by gymnasts, dancers, track and field athletes and physical therapists for many years. This mass muscle workout requires fatiguing a muscle or a group of muscles through an isometric contraction and then stretching the muscle. This is generally undertaken with a partner. It has been seen that a greater range of stretch can be achieved when the muscle has first been fatigued. These exercises are also being used by physical therapists and athletic trainers for treatment and rehabilitation of both athletic and non-athletic injuries and conditions. This is a good routine for a mass muscle workout.

One must understand the scientific and medical process of this mass muscle workout. Muscles are protected from overstretching by an automatic mechanism called the stretch reflex. This means that in case you stretch too far or too quickly, the muscles will automatically contract to prevent tearing. PNF overrides this stretch reflex and therefore, must be undertaken carefully. Therefore, in a mass muscle workout, one needs to concentrate on how it feels before over stretching.
