Hard Gainer Weight TrainingHard Gainer Weight TrainingWhy you’re a hard gainer? For hard gainer weight training I’m going to take some time and explain exactly what goes on in your body that causes you to be a have a difficult time making gains. First let me state that I don’t really agree with the assumption that the average hardgainer is a skinny punk who can eat everything in sight without putting on weight. In actuality, most of the hardgainers I see are hardgainers in more ways than one. Not only do they have a hard time building muscle but also they often have a hard enough time getting lean so they struggle in both areas. Unlike their genetically gifted friends, they have a difficult time putting on muscle during hard gainer weight training without gaining a lot of fat. They also have a difficult time gaining strength and making consistent progress from session to session. Programs in the past have focused on very low volume, relatively high intensity programs for hard gainers. I believe this is a big mistake. Now let me give you some insights into what is going on inside your body and then I’ll get into the specifics of my program from a nutritional and a hard gainer weight training standpoint. Not all of these problems will apply to everyone but you should see yourself in one or more of them. hardgainers tip 1Problem No: 1. While undergoing hard gainer weight training you’re likely to be high strung and you have a tendency to burn out your central nervous system (CNS). You can think of your CNS as the central electrical power plant and controller of your body. It has both a central operating system and local operating systems. The central system would be your brain and spinal cord and be like a powerplant that provides electricity to an entire city. The local systems would be the nerves that fire your muscles. If your CNS is not functioning up to par the signals that fire your muscles will be less than optimal. This is going to be influenced by stress and influence your hard gainer weight training. hardgainers tip 2The problem for most hard gainer weight training is that they burn out their CNS and use up their CNS energy with very little stress. One night of sleep deprivation or one really high intensity workout can wipe them out for days. Without a rejuvenated CNS strength gains are impossible. hardgainers tipIn order to make progress you as a hardgainer have to emphasize recovery of your central nervous system. That means get plenty of sleep, plenty of nutrition, and cycle your workouts accordingly. I’ll show you how to carry out a hard gainer weight training and eat but the sleep part is up to you. |
