To successfully lose fat and gain weight, do not stop eating! One of the biggest mistakes people have made over the years is assuming that the less you consume, the less you will weigh. WRONG! In fact, research has proven that there is no relation between food consumption and getting fat. Actually, most obese individuals eat just as much, perhaps even less, than a normal average person. People who attempt to reduce food intake end up just regaining the weight right back within five years. Additionally, there is never really any fat loss occurring. What is being lost is valuable muscle! Burning muscle provides much more energy to the body than does burning fat. I bet you didn’t know that, did you? You can’t lose fat and gain weight if your muscles are being eaten up. It is especially so considering that losing muscle causes your metabolism to gradually slow down.

Furthermore, you can’t lose fat and gain weight by starving yourself because the lack of food actually increases your body’s attempt to stock up on fat. It is worried it will run out of energy and so amasses as much fat as possible. Therefore, as soon as your diet ends and you restart your normal eating habits, the decreased metabolism and stockpiling of fat will make it easier for your body to convert the food into fat. You end up regaining all the weight and even more. Fat loss is obviously not occurring. Furthermore, when you eat less, your body emits less heat energy. Instead, it converts that energy straight into fat. This is obviously not the correct way to lose fat and gain weight.

To lose fat and gain weight, you also need to be eating the correct types of food. Even though too many calories from any kind of food are bad to begin with, some foods are worse than others. By far, dietary fat remains the worst thing to consume because considering that it is very similar to body fat, it is easily stored in your body. On the other hand, carbohydrates and protein require a lot of work to be converted into fat. This process burns up a portion of the calories within the food, decreasing the chance of it getting deposited as fat. That is why people can easily eat tremendous portions of meat and carbohydrates in one day and yet not gain an ounce of fat. I myself eat an enormous amount of food each day and I’m still slim as a rabbit. So the moral of the story is that if you want to lose fat and gain weight, instead of cutting down on overall food intake, just replace the bad foods with some good food! You will be amazed with the results.
