Weight Training
Strength weight training concentrates on
building big muscles which is also powerful enough. Strength training
has to be on good equipments so that you gain the optimum out of your
workouts. In this busy world, no one has enough time to patiently work
on a variety of exercises to get the body into shape. Now, how to build
muscle mass under these circumstances? Exercising equipments are the
only solution which gives you high intensity training within less number
of sets. The first change that happens is neurological. The brain adapts
to the new exercise regimen that you have taken up on your strength
weight training.
Strength weight training leads to changes in the body muscles through muscle hypertrophy. Muscle hypertrophy results in increase in the size of the cells of the muscles, i.e. increase in its diameter rather than the number of muscle cells. Muscle hypertrophy involves four changes in the muscle fibers. First, there is an increase in the number of myofibrils in the muscle fibers. Second, there is an increase in the amount of proteins like actin and myosin. Third, there is an increase in the number of blood vessels in the muscle and finally the tendons tissue in the muscle develops in terms of strength. The above four changes indicate the occurrence of hypertrophy in your strength weight training.
Strength weight training in women does not yield results as it is in men. Women display reduced hypertrophy as their testosterone levels are very low compared to men. Testosterone basically is a male sex hormone, which boosts hypertrophy. Men have muscle mass, which is much bigger than women. Even with reduced levels of testosterone, women display equal gain in strength due to their superior neurological efficiency and also by means of a process called as the ‘contractile element packing’. Women will keep pondering over ‘How to build muscle mass?’ but they gain strength without much increase in muscle mass due to denser packing of their muscle, which makes their muscle more efficient than the muscle of similar size in men. The packaging of muscle fibers must be dense for effective strength weight training.
Strength weight training emphasizes on how dense your muscle fibers are packed to generate greater strength. This means that packing more of the actin and myosin proteins in the same space without enlarging the size of the muscles. The final change that the muscle goes through is muscle hyperplasia, which increases the number of cells in your muscles. Muscle hyperplasia is stimulated by high-intensity training, in which the muscle fibers may split into two after growing to a particular size. The new muscle fibers will grow to the same size of the original muscle and then split again into two. Muscle hypertrophy and hyperplasia needs to be effectively handles in your strength weight training.
