How Muscle Contraction takes place

Weight training for dummies is basically dependent on the muscle structure. But what actually has to be kept in mind is that proteins help in building muscles. Proteins play a vital role in the formation of muscle mass and muscles can only contract or shrink in size. But formation of muscles is only possible through weight training for dummies. So the question often asked is how we build those shapely muscles.

By pairing certain muscles in opposite sides of a bone or limb one can achieve a pushing movement. By observing your body you will find that muscles appear in pairs. To achieve that pushing movement by contracting the muscles try holding your arm straight in front of you with your palm facing up you will observe that contraction of the upper arm brings the arm and forearm closer to the shoulder : basic weight training for dummies. Located in the bottom of the upper arm the triceps are also attached to the forearm and is stretched along with the biceps. So in order to push or give any kind of movement the triceps contract and brings the forearm to the starting point.

The complete scene

It is important to note that muscles like the quadriceps and hamstring may further consist of three or four other muscles. These muscles may go on and join other bone that is these may start of from one bone and further connect to another second bone and make it as one. Following is a detailed description of these muscles and their functioning which will help in weight training for dummies while developing muscle mass:

Quadriceps: The quadriceps consists of four muscles present on the front thigh. Their names are vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, vastus intermedius, and rectus femoris.

Hamstrings: The hamstring has three muscles behind the thigh. Their names are semitendinosus, semi- membranosus, and biceps femoris.

Triceps: The triceps has three separate starting pints or points of origin. They are starting from the shoulder and attached to the forearm. To develop muscle mass different exercises must be done to develop these muscles.

Biceps: the biceps consist of two different heads from the scapula and one attachment to the forearm.

Deltoids: consists of the three shoulder muscles. They are anterior (front) deltoid, middle deltoid, posterior (rear) deltoid. These three muscles can be developed through exercises

A word on Fibers, Fibrils, and Filaments

Another important part to be discussed in weight training for dummies is the muscle fibers present in the muscle mass. The word that is used to define the intricate structure of a muscle is a phone company cable. The cable itself is really small and further consists of smaller cables which further transmit the phone calls. A muscle fiber is constituted the same way and is a group of other minute fibers known as the myofibrils. It is these smaller fibers that consist of the protein strands which help in the contraction process, the myofilaments. Each muscle fiber contains many myofibrils and each of these myofibrils contains many myofilaments. Research studies show that there are around a quarter billion muscles in an ordinary human being. This is the basic requirement for weight training for dummies.
