Eat for mass to gain a muscular body. It is obvious that without eating you cannot build mass. But it should not contribute to adding up to your fat. When the body builders are not gearing up for competition and are in their off-season, then they usually take to off-season diet. This diet is different from what they had been consuming during the weight training days and consists of lot of what they craved for eating like high-fat food and red meats. This allows them to get greater response from the supplements. Any thing that is gained extra which they do not require can be shed during the workout days by workouts. During the off-season it is not important for bodybuilders to eat for mass.

Eat for mass can be construed both as eating for fat mass or eating for muscle mass. To build muscle you have to follow a well-balanced diet which is complete with all the nutrients required by the muscle to grow. The food must be rich with enough vitamins and minerals that are very important to support the rejuvenation and recuperation after the workouts. During workouts all the minerals and nutrients are consumed and a fresh inflow is required to replace the exhausted stock. You need a lot of protein to build the muscles. So a supplement of protein will give you good results in bodybuilding. To look like a hunk you have to do a lot of workout along with the diet. But workout alone will not reap you benefits. Usually beginners neglect the dietary requirements, which cause more damage than doing any good. So a proper diet is essential to eat for mass.

Eat for mass can also be practiced through a strict off-season diet. To follow a good off-season diet, before you start your training in the morning eat two pieces of whole-grain toast with butter and jelly; juice or milk; coffee; supplements. In the lunch eat 3 to 6 eggs; tomatoes etc. For Snacks you can try cheese and crackers, a glass of milk or plenty of juice. In the dinner you can eat a very large piece of prime rib, salad bread and butter; occasionally a potato, coffee or milk or a piece of pie or ice cream. Eat these foods to eat for mass. In the late evening snacks you can take few pints of ice cream or a bag of nuts. These are good foods that you can eat for mass.

You can eat for mass even during the off-season, but you should also exercise certain controls and stay within the limits prescribed. You should not deviate from your goals. You should not tune your body into over consumption or addiction to fat-high foods that could make damage control impossible. Even during the off-season you must always eat for mass.
